Creating a healthy community is important to the success of St. Charles County. Partners for Progress will measure the success of fostering a healthy community by assessing the access to healthcare and the wellness of the individuals within the community. The health of the community contributes to the quality of life in St. Charles County. Healthcare availability, physical activity and preventative health screenings are all contributing factors to the overall health measures.
The majority of healthcare measures were provided through the Healthy People 2010 project led by an interagency work group within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Individuals and organizations provided comments at national and regional meetings or via mail and the Internet.
